Excellent Condition Union Switch & Signal Co M1911 A1, U.S. ARMY Chambered for .45 Auto Ammunition. This is one of 55,000 pistols manufactured in the serial number range 1041405 to 1096404. On the left side of the reciever is the ordnance inspectors mark "R.C.D." in a circle. This is the mark of Lt. Col. Robert C. Downey. There is also a "P" proofmark located on the left side of receiver. Per the Colt Serial Number Database, this firearm was manufactured in 1943. .45 Auto
