"Serial No. 40119, manufactured circa late 1943, chambered in 7.7x58mm, featuring a 26" round barrel. This mid-war Type 99 Arisaka bolt-action rifle was produced by the Nagoya Arsenal, Series 6, during a period of transition from early wartime production standards toward the simplified ""last ditch"" models. The metal exhibits a dark brown/plum patina, with factory kanji markings and an intact Imperial chrysanthemum (mum) still visible on the receiver. The serial numbers are non-matching, which is typical for rifles that saw prolonged wartime service. The hardwood stock shows expected combat wear and use, with handling marks throughout and a coat of linseed oil applied at some point A fine representative example of Japan’s main battle rifle during WWII. The action is smooth and functions correctly.
