"Serial No. 44331, manufactured in 1918, 8mm Lebel, 18" round barrel. Serial numbers on the bolt and receiver are mismatched. The majority of the original blue finish remains on the receiver and barrel, with light thinning visible in scattered areas. Factory markings are sharp and legible. Stock shows light handling impressions with a crisp 1916-dated cartouche present on the right buttstock. Action is smooth and functions correctly. A fine example of France’s Model 1916 Berthier carbine, produced during the final year of the First World War.
