"Serial No. 417943, manufactured circa 1918–1919, .30-06 Springfield, 24" round barrel marked “S.A. / Flaming Bomb / 8-29." Rifle remains in very good overall condition, showing light handling marks throughout. These rifles were originally produced at Rock Island Arsenal and later assembled at Springfield Armory from remaining receiver stock after WWI. Stock displays light handling impressions with a visible “R.A." cartouche on the left side. Action is smooth and functions correctly. An attractive and historically interesting example of a transitional Rock Island Model 1903, assembled under Springfield Armory oversight during the post-WWI period.
