Description:
This is a high quality pre-WWII built M1897 Type 30/38/99 Arisaka Rifle Bayonet. This particular M1897 was built by Nagoya Arsenal and has a speckled bright, lightly sharpened, perfect tip, 15 9/16" blade in very good condition. The spine and edge are unaltered with a strong "Three size circle" makers marks stamp at the ricasso. The guard has speckled oxidation with a forward, strongly curved quillon of the earliest pattern with rounded edges and oxidation. The wooden, very good condition grips are held by two screw bolts with oval washers and have a dark patina with light oxidation on bolts. The pommel has light oxidation and is not stamped. This is paired with a fair to good condition all steel scabbard with loop and ball shaped finial with almost none of the bluing, moderate surface oxidation. ;
