The Browning BPS (Browning Pump Shotgun) is a bottom-ejecting, pump-action shotgun introduced by Browning in the 1970s. The “Field" models are the utilitarian/standard hunting/service variants (vs. Sporter, Grade, or Citori over/under models). “Model 28" is commonly used by owners/dealers to indicate a Field model with a 28" barrel, but exact designation and features can vary by production year and market.
