Payment Types Accepted: Cashiers check or Money Order Description: From a Midwest sale, a Ruger Model No. 3 single shot falling block rifle 45-70 caliber. Made in 1984. Bright shiny bore and very smooth tight action. The stock is in amazingly good condition with only a few light pressure dents and light scratches (see photos) , a testament to how well the rifle was threated as at the sale they said this rifle was carried by an Alaskan Guide for years and had taken both bear and moose. The rifle is fitted with sling swivels and a old leather sling which looks at though it has been on the gun for years. The flimsy Ruger butt plate has been replaced with a form fitted rubber rifle pad. The metal blued finish is also in great condition with wear on the sharp edges from years of carrying. Single shot rifles have always been the choice of “Dangerous Game” guides as one shot may be all a hunter gets and the simplicity and reliability of a single shot rifle was paramount. The other consideration is knock down power. The knock down power of the 45-70 has been proven time and again as it was the unanimous choice of American Buffalo hunters. A single shot 45-70 has been the go to “get the job done” choice for over 100 years and the No. 3 Ruger is one of the best single shot rifles ever produced. This is one of the few guns I sell that I have actually shot. I was fascinated by the the Big Game Guide story and wanted to try out the accuracy of the rifle for myself. This rifle is amazingly accurate with open sights and I would not hesitate to choose it to hunt any Big Game on the North American continent. I cannot authenticate the origin or history of this rifle; therefore, I am offering it with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If it fails to live up to your expectations in any way return it for a full and speedy refund including your return shipping. See my feedback. No reserve. I do not recommend firing any weapon until it has been thoroughly examined by a certified gunsmith.
