Description:
Outstanding Mexican War Militia Staff Sword. Indian Princess Pommel. Very high grade with engraved brass scabbard. This sword is almost identical to Horstmann Militia Staff Sword illustrated on page 547 of Civil War Army Swords. 31 1/2" spear point thrust blade. Beautifully acid etched. The brass hilt has a cast Indian princess pommel and MOP slabs cut to fit the guided brass wire wrap. Capt. H. Jordon/1851 is etched on inside of guard. Excellent overall condition, very rare find!
