From a Midwest sale, a J.P. Sauer & Sohn heavy barrel target rifle 6mm Remington caliber. Very smooth German 98 Mauser action, solid rigid receiver single shot, unmarked 26" Douglas premium heavy barrel with a bright and shiny bore. The metal of the rifle has a deep Royal Blue finish in excellent condition. Beautiful high grade walnut stock with pistol grip cap and recoil pad. The stock has an off hand accessory rail plate flush inlayed in the bottom of the flat forend accommodating a Harris extending leg bi-pod and a sling swivel. The stock has a sculptured, right hand, roll-over cheek piece in excellent condition (a few very light pressure dents and surface scratches....see photos). Very light adjustable trigger and Weaver style scope bases. At the sale they said this very fine custom rifle was over 40 years old but has been shot very little, always been carefully maintained and has been in a safe for years.
