This is a Civil War period, M1859 Hi Port US Cavalry Bit. This example has Brass "US" medallions riveted in place on either side of the bit with a weathered surface and no makers mark. Complete with #1 highest port, rings, and bottom cross bar. This example is in very good condition with surface oxidation, great brass patina. Approx 8 1/2" long and 6 1/2" wide.;
