Description:
Model 1855 Harper's Ferry, Type II, 2 band rifle, .58 caliber. Built in 1859.  Rifle uses the Maynard tape primer system. The roll of original tape (shown in pictures) is included with the rifle. Bore is very good considering age and usage. Stock is sound, but well used with plenty of stories. Breech end of rifle is well marked with V and P with faint eagle stamping on the left side of the receiver. Each band is U stamped. Buttplate marked US. Has extra nipple in the patch box. Correct "bulged" ramrod is present and in good shape. Equipped with a vintage, reproduction Watervliet Armory sling. Email for more pictures, with any questions or to make an offer.
