Description: An iconic military rifle of Soviet design and one of the more famous rifles used by many enemies of the U.S. during the Cold War, the SKS rifle is a gas-operated semi-automatic rifle chambered in 7.62x39mm Soviet. The SKS was fielded after World War II as a mainline battle rifle in a lightweight intermediate caliber and its design was also sold to other countries and Soviet states, including China, East Germany, North Korea, Egypt, Romania, and Yugoslavia. It did see battle during the Korean and Vietnam conflicts, as well as seeing use in smaller localized conflicts and revolutions around the world. This is a Chinese example of the venerable SKS rifle with the triangle 906 marking of China's Factory 906. Its serial number translates to a 1971 production. The numbers match on the receiver, stock, magazine, bolt, trigger guard, and bottom of the rear sight. The rifle was imported by Century Arms and has a folding bayonet and a 10-round fixed magazine. The hooded front sight is adjustable, and the rear leaf sight can be adjusted for different ranges. This Type 56 has a folding spike-style bayonet andeincludes a canvas sling and cleaning rod. The action is smooth and the bore is clean and bright. The hardwood stock and hand guard are in good shape, with most of the finish still in place and some obvious signs of wear. This rifle is a numbers-matching, as-issued survivor in very decent overall shape. There is no box or case included. 7.62X39 Price: $549.99 Chambers: 7.62x39mm Soviet Metal Condition: Good Wood Condition: Fair Bore Condition: Good Barrels: 20 Stock Dimensions: 12" LOP Fore End: Oil-finished hardwood Butt Pad: Metal buttplate Weight: 8 lbs 8 oz Sights: Adjustable hooded front sight with elevator-adjustable rear leaf sight Item Location: Kearney, NE |
