Sig Sauer 716 Patrol – 7.62 NATO – 16" Barrel – Excellent Condition!
The AR platform is the most popular type of rifle in the county. Whether you call it an AR, a modern sporting rifle (MSR), a black rifle or any other term, folks immediately know what you’re talking about. The majority of those AR platform rifles are chambered in 5.56 NATO. While that’s a round that’s light-recoiling and relatively inexpensive, that 55 Grain bullet lacks the mass and power to really be useful in most types of hunting. For more “oomph", greater range and more power, you can still stay in an AR type of platform but upgrade to the 7.62 NATO or 308 Win round. That’s the type of rifle that we have here on consignment.
The Sig Sauer 716 Patrol was, and still is, a fantastic choice for an AR rifle chambered in 7.62 NATO. Ours (serial number 23D004743) was manufactured in late 2013. The 16 inch free floated barrel has a 1:10 twist. The short stroke gas piston system enhances both reliability and durability. The four position gas regulator lets your rifle run in just about any condition and is especially useful if you want to run the rifle suppressed. A 16.5 inch picatinny rails runs from the top of the receiver to the end of the handguard. Plenty of room for sights, optics, magnifiers or all of the above. The handguard itself is an aluminum quad rail handguard. In addition to the pic rail on top, you also have picatinny rails at the 3, 6 and 9 o’clock positions. Thinking of lights, pressure pads, forward grips or lasers? The quad rail has plenty of room to accommodate whatever options that you’d like.
An A2 bird cage flash hider sits at the end of the barrel. The pistol grip is a Sig Sauer branded grip with a storage compartment. The multi position stock is from JRK Defense. The rifle also has a dust cover, forward assist and 2 position safety.
This rifle is in truly outstanding condition. There is one small area of finish loss on the left side of the barrel. The receiver has only light storage marks. Otherwise, the rifle is in Excellent condition. The bore is very clean, the barrel is very bright and the rifling looks strong. These 716 Patrol rifles have always been in high demand and for good reason. This one, in particular, is a beautiful example of a 716 Patrol that has been very well taken care of.
Purchase is for the rifle and (1) 10 round metal magazine. No other items or accessories are included in the sale.
This is a consignment sale and, like all of our consignments, we have not test fired this rifle. We have performed our function checks and find no issues to report.
