Auguste Francotte is world famous as a high-quality firearms maker from the gun making center of Liège, Belgium dating back as far as 1805.  Making fine shotguns into the 21rst Century with price tags topping out at over $100,000, Francotte is a brand recognized and used by heads of state, business tycoons, and in some cases, the fortunate “Average Joe”.  This fine Francotte is a very nice find, a boxlock ejector gun with 27 ½” barrels and an English gripped stock of nicely figured French walnut.  Built in 1954 with serial number 2719, the gun is in superb condition, with 99%+ barrel with perfectly mirrored bores choked Full/Full, the action features side clips, Greener style x Bolt with a third bite on the rib extension, a double underlug, and a lug through the receiver-this gun is built tough with 8 locking surfaces! The receiver shows 98% factory case color thinning to a pleasing silver at the carry points. The beautiful walnut stock having a superb hand-rubbed oil finish with sharp checkering surrounded by a mullered border and terminating with a horn buttplate, it has some characterful field marks. This Francotte was re-proofed post 1989 in Britain (we’ve included clear photographs of the barrel flats) to chamber 3” shells, so its all ready to go. Ammunition is readily available all over the internet with No. 7 ½, 8, and 9 shot…perfect for quail and woodcock or breaking clay targets. Choked F/F some experts might even take larger birds and rabbits with this fine gun. The gun weighs just 5lbs 2oz. and balances perfectly on pin, a truly dynamic handling gun from one of the best Belgium gun makers. If you like peewee shotguns, don’t miss out on this fine little Francotte. See the specifications below. This gun is mechanically excellent and is a VFI CERTIFIED GUN HAVING THE ACTION AND FOREND IRON STRIPPED, ULTRASONIC CLEANED, ALL PARTS SCRUBBED CLEAN, INSPECTED FOR FUNCTION AND INTEGRITY, LUBRICATED, AND REASSEMBLED, NOW CARRYING A 90-DAY MECHANICAL WARRANTY.  This is a $450 service in our shop. Buy with confidence. Thanks for looking!
