Description:
Vintage Fortuna Suhl 29E 12GA 2 3/4" hunting shotgun. Boxlock with Greener crossbolt, automatic ejector and cocking indicators. Coin finished receiver with hand-engraved waterfowl decoration. 28" barrels with engine-turned solid rib and excellent bore condition. OAL=45", LOP=14.2", weight=6.8 lbs, height over comb=1.6", height over heel=2.7", both barrels have a full choke. Excellent walnut stock with crisp hand cut chequering, near perfect blue metal finish, date mark for June 1963. Merkel sold guns under the Fortuna brand name in the early 60's to avoid legal problems with West German retailers as the ownership of the brand name Merkel was disputed at that time.
