Description:
The earliest Ruger centerfire handgun was the Flattop Blackhawk, so named because of its strong, square frame top. It also incorporated an adjustable rear sight, as well as the not-so-safe Colt-style original lockwork that allowed the firing pin to rest on the primer of the cartridge beneath the hammer. This example sports wood Ruger grips that look to be not original to the gun. This one has been handled a lot as you can tell from the finish loss on the grip frame. 4.5 inch barrel and six round fluted cylinder. Still a nice early Ruger with plenty of life left in it. .357 Magnum
