"Made circa 1850. 32 caliber with a 40" barrel. This is a Kentucky style rifle marked on the top of the barrel “T. Marlin" in cursive script. The barrel has a dark brown patina throughout. The lock is marked “Tryon/ Phila" and is a back action lock. This gun has a fantastic patch box. The Patch box has flowing scrolls and is nicely engraved with scrolls. The wood is very good with striped finish to the wood. The cheek piece has a patriotic eagle engraved on the silver escutcheon. Very attractive gun!
