Friends and Fellow Steyr Collectors,
I will be selling a few rifles from my collection to make room for other interests. Here is a beautiful and rare 1964 Zephyr .22LR (not II), serial number 2637 out of just a few thousand ever made. The full-lengths stock is in very good condition with only a few small scuffs and dings. It has a nice range of colors and some classy dark lines in the figuring. There are no cracks that I can see with my eyes or in the pictures. The metal is also excellent, no rust or signs of abuse. The rifiling is super crisp and shows very little indication of use. I believe this may be the origonal leather sling, as I've seen on several other Zephyrs over the years but not 100% sure about that. The scope is a beautiful, period-correct Weaver K3-W widefield scope with german 3-post reticle. The double set triggers (DST) function exactly as designed, bolt is smooth and magazine is also pictured.
Given the rarity of this rifle and confuration of full stock, double triggers and georgious scope, I've seen these referred to as the "holy grail" Zephyr. The condition isn't immaculate but still incredibly nice, so we'll call it maybe a "unicorn" instead of the Grail.
