For sale today is a beautiful English game gun by Army & Navy. Built in Birmingham and sold in London during the golden era of English gun making, this best quality boxlock ejector was almost certainly built by Webley & Scott for Army & Navy and remains in very nice condition. It’s housed in its original case with trade label. The action has gone gray which really highlights the full-coverage scroll engraving that’s of the finest quality. This was a top tier model in terms of quality. In addition to the engraving, it features beautifully carved fences, doll’s head extension, and safety intercepting sears (only found on the highest grade boxlocks). The straight grip and splinter forend is a classic combination and carries a good oil finish, sharp checkering, side panels with drop points, and great modern stock dimensions. The 30” steel barrels carry Nitro proof, have clean bores and are choked a versatile cylinder and modified… fantastic for upland birds! The traditional game rib is engraved “ARMY & NAVY CSL LONDON”. At 6lbs 4oz, its handles and swings great! Mechanically, it’s a solid gun with nice triggers, solid and tight lock up, ejectors are in time. Everything is as it should be.
