Freedom Arms Model 83 Deputy U.S. Marshal Single Action Revolver with Box
This is a Freedom Arms Model 83 configured in a special edition called the Deputy US Marshal which were made sporadically between 1990 through 1993. This revolver was manufactured in 1990 so is an early production in this configuration.
This revolver has a 5 shot cylinder chambered in.454 Casull and manufactured in stainless steel with a stain finish. This is a Premier Grade revolver built on a Model 83 frame and has a special 3" barrel without an ejector and laminate Rosewood grips. It comes complete with a matching original factory box, instruction manual, other literature, and paper test target.
Condition:
This Freedom Arms is in excellent overall condition. The revolver shows light handling evidence with some light scuffs on the barrel. The laminated rosewood grips are in excellent condition. The bore in mint with excellent sharp rifling. This revolver cycles perfectly and locks up with absolutely no movement, typical of Freedom Arms revolvers. Overall mechanically excellent. The original matching box is in very good condition with the corners at the label side loose.
A call into Freedom Arms it was determined that this revolver was manufactured in January of 1990. The Deputy Marshal edition was done for a short time between 1990 and 1993 and very few were made in that time. I could not get an exact number but I was told less than 300 made. With very few short barrel Model 83 made overall. These short barrel Freedom Arms revolvers don't come up very often. The 3" barrel makes this revolver especially easy to carry in the hard hitting 454 Casull. A big bore single action revolver that would be perfectly at home out in Grizzly bear country.
