A remarkably scarce offering from the Browning Custom Shop in Belgium, this BAR 25th Anniversary Edition in .308 Winchester is #19 of only 25 rifles produced worldwide, making it one of the rarest and most desirable BAR variants ever built. With serial number 337CS01635, this rifle showcases the finest craftsmanship Browning had to offer in 1986. The French grey receiver is masterfully engraved by renowned FN engraver P. Lallemand, featuring a dynamic forest scene of two charging wild boar on the left panel—signed discreetly at the lower edge—and a stunning roe deer buck and doe running through timber on the right. Scrollwork adorns all borders, and the top of the action proudly displays “19/25” and “25th Anniversary” in decorative vignettes. Mechanically the rifle is excellent, with a smooth semi-auto action, crisp trigger, clear bore with sharp rifling, and sights consisting of a driven-hunt rear sight paired with a red fiber-optic front. A scope base is already installed for easy optic mounting.
The deluxe walnut stock and forend exhibit rich figure and sharp checkering, pairing beautifully with the engraved action to create a rifle of exceptional elegance. At 8 lb 2.5 oz, with a 22" barrel and 13.875" LOP, this BAR balances comfortably while retaining the rugged reliability for which the platform is famous.
