Description:
Winchester Early 3rd Model 1873 Winchester Special Order nickeled.Set Trigger , Factory letter search says Nickel trim. 44-40 cal Bore VG strong rifling, Mech Exc, Wood is VG with some old varnish. Has an original 24” oct barrel with full mag, original sights and having an excellent Winchester address and patent date markings. The early 3rd models were not caliber marked on the barrel or bottom of the carrier. Serial#97095 mfg’d Early 1882, assembly.numbers matching. The receiver has the original dust cover and marked model 1873 on the top tang The lower tang has the serial number. The metal parts appear to have a old refinish as the barrel and mag tube have 80% blued finish with sharp edges and the receiver, buttplate with compartment and forend cap have 90% nickel finish.
