Description:
This is a original 10 round Civil War ammunition packet containing .58 Caliber combustible paper cartridges. The packet remains intact, tied with string having one corner torn to allow for a peek inside revealing two Williams blue-green paper cartridges containing the cleaner cartridges that were supposed to be fired every 5 or 10 rounds to keep the bore clean. Also exposed is the end of the paper wrapped musket caps and the top of a regular tan colored round. The outer wrapper shows some mild staining and has somewhat fragile paper. A common item for the Civil War Soldier that is now quite scarce in original, unwrapped condition.
