With too many items filling our racks we don’t have time to attend to cleaning and/or restoring every new piece that comes in. We leave it up to you to do so if inclined so we offer as a “monthly special”.
This is a fine little carbine made by Gevarm — a French small-arms maker that produced civilian rifles and carbines in the mid-20th century. Commonly referred to as the Automatique .22 it is a .22 rimfire semi-automatic carbine intended for sport, plinking and small game.
Typically post-WWII to ≈1960s–1970s (mid-20th century civilian market). Made in: France. .22 Long Rifle .Simple blowback semi-automatic.
It has a detachable box magazine ( 10 rounds) Barrel/length: 19” carbine length. Basic iron sights (front post and adjustable rear) Stock/finish: wooden stock (walnut/varnished) with blued or parkerized metal finish typical of the period.
The buttsock appears to have been cleaned of a varnish. Image of right side shows a “blonde” appearance and for the buyer a simple stain wipe could darken the stock – leave as is. Perfect working order. Nice little acquisition and with a little touch up will be in excellent condition.
