Here is one for the discerning Colt New Service Collector.
This gun is what Colt Collectors refer to as a New Service "Parts Gun".
These guns were put together by Colt during the height of the Depression in the mid 1930s. They were built using earlier New Service parts like the flat cylinder latch, non-belled barrel and typically did not come with a lanyard loop. They were then sold to larger stores and retailed at a lower price point, reference Tim Mullin's book "Colt's New Service Revolver" page 142. These guns were a way for Colt to use up existing inventory of parts and help survive the Great Depression. They have serial #s from the 357,000 - 336,000 + range. This gun # 336xxx fits correctly in that range.
The gun is chambered for 44-40 with the 5 1/2" barrel. As noted above there is no lanyard loop.
It is in very high condition as shown in the pictures.
