A refined Beretta S3 side-by-side from 1956, this 12-gauge presents the elegant balance of vintage Italian craftsmanship with practical, shootable features. The hand-fitted sidelock action is coin-finished and displays approximately 95% coverage of delicate floral and scroll engraving, complemented by an extended bottom tang engraved “Mod. S3.” Mechanically it is excellent: cocking indicators, strong in-time ejectors, and a crisp single non-selective trigger all perform as they should. The 27.5" blued barrels retain about 98% of their original finish and are choked Modified (.029") over Full (.039")—bores are clear and the action locks up tight, making this as much a pleasure to shoot as it is to admire.
Refinished walnut stock and forend have been sympathetically restored to their original luster and fitted with a new orange rubber recoil pad, giving the gun a fresh, well-cared-for appearance while preserving period character. At a 14.5" length of pull, 1.5" DAC and 2.25" DAH, and a comfortable 7 lb 2 oz carry weight, it balances nicely for upland days or sporting clays where classic looks and reliable function meet. A handsome, fully capable example of Beretta’s mid-century production that will appeal to collectors and shooters alike.
