Description:
The Type 2 carbines were made by Simeon North, Middletown, Ct. 1840-1843 and 6501 were made. The inspector cartouche on the left wood flat is Nahum W. Patch. JCB is on the left breech flat behind the rear sight and is Joseph C. Bragg. The mechanical function is very good, crisp and tight. The bore is very good with strong rifling but is a bit in the dark side. There is a lot of barrel brown and receiver brown, over 40%.
