General Specs: Thomas Bland, 1953, 28 Gauge, 5lbs. 4oz., Chokes CYL/M, LOP 14 5/16", DAH 2 1/8", DAC 1 5/16"

Thomas Bland & Sons of London have been makers of fine shotguns since 1867 and in Birmingham starting in 1840 and are still in business today! The Thomas Bland guns have always been known to be very well made and respected side by sides. This gun is very special in that it is built on a tiny, scaled 28ga. frame. Built in 1953, sn18548 is one of the very rare 28-gauge English side x sides and a gauge that is highly sought after in the upland world as well as the vintage side x side events that have blossomed across the country. This gun remains in excellent condition with 98% condition overall, vivid case colors, excellent screws, and nicely figured English walnut stocks with a hand-rubbed oil finish and superb checkering. Weighing just 5 ¼ pounds and balanced perfectly 1/8” ahead of the hinge pin, this gun has the most desirable 28” barrels choked Cyl/M (British guns often have cylinder in the right barrel) and MOST IMPORTANTLY REMAINS IN PROOF WITH THE ORIGINAL BORE DIAMETER AND 2 1/2" CHAMBERS. We have plenty of 28ga. shotshells in 2 ½” in stock to go with your gun. The stock dimensions are excellent, and we have gunsmiths on staff if you need any alterations. It is rare to find any English double gun in 28ga., let alone one that is in superb condition and the original maker’s case with accessories coming along with the gun. Just in time for a little practice before the season starts. Priced to sell, so don’t hesitate on this well-known maker’s peewee offering. Thanks for looking!
