For sale is a Chinese-made AK-47-pattern rifle, a Norinco MAK-90 Sporter chambered in the classic 7.62x39mm Soviet caliber. Considered by many to be one of the most reliable battle rifles ever produced and proven by its service globally, the Russian-designed AK-47 rifle is an icon of warfare and firearms design since its implementation shortly following World War II, stretching all the way to modern-day conflicts. Due to its success as a military arm, its design has been licensed out to many non-Russian manufacturers around the world, with China being a large producer of these copies. The Norinco MAK-90 Sporter was built as a commercially-exported sporting rifle targeting civilian shooting enthusiasts especially in the United States. These rifles are numerous on the market, but were unable to be imported following the 1994 import ban on arms from Communist countries. Though "made in China," Norinco firearms are known to be of very good quality, as they come from the same factories producing the People's Liberation Army's own arsenal. The MAK-90s have been made of both milled and stamped receivers—this rifle is built with a stamped receiver and forged front trunnion. The rifle features a 16" threaded barrel with an added AK-74-style muzzle brake. It has also been modified to accept an offset optic mount holding a Red Star 4x20 fixed-power scope. The original wood thumbhole sporter stock has been removed and swapped with a wire side-folding stock. Finally, the two included steel 30-round magazines have been taped together for easily-retained reloads. This rifle has seen quite a bit of usage, evidenced by wear on the receiver and the stock. The bore, however, is quite good and the rifle has been well-cleaned and operates smoothly. For a sporter conversion, this rifle is well-equipped for a non-professional job. Included with this MAK-90 is the original hardwood sporter stock, a Mil-tech tactical soft rifle case, a Chinese SKS 10-pocket chest rig, nylon sling, additional cleaning rod and kit, oil bottle, and two user manuals. 7.62X39
