Description: This Colt Sauer Model 3000 is chambered in 12 x12 gauge over 243 Winchester and has a barrel date code "HP" 1975? It has 25" barrels with extractors and a wavy checkered solid top rib fitted with solid front blade sight and a pop-up rear leaf. The left shotgun barrel is marked "COLT - SAUER / MADE IN WESTERN GERMANY / 12/70 234 Winch". The right shotgun barrel is marked "MODEL 3000 / KRUPP ~ SPEZIAL LAUFSTAHL / COLTS PT. F.A.MFG CO.HARTFORD. CT. USA". The underside of the rifle barrel is also marked "GS / 243" and "GG6668". The left side of the rifle barrel at the chamber is marked with an "Eagle / N" proof and "HF" and the right side is marked "243 WIN" with a circled "SS" logo. The bottom of the barrel lug is marked "R2". The flats on the undersides of the shotgun barrels are marked "12/70 / 2 ¾"" and with an "Eagle / N" proof. The gray finished scalloped boxlock action features rifle selector on top tang, Greener type side safety, pin cocking indicators, cross bolt, front set trigger, side clips and double triggers. The action is hand engraved with near full coverage of simple scroll and punched scroll borders. The left side is a game scene with white tail buck running through leafy woodland background and on the right is an elk walking in open forest land. The trigger guard Is blued with scroll on bow. The stock set is a two piece checkered European walnut with a capped white line pistol grip, fluted straight comb, and a vented textured rubber J.P. Sauer recoil pad.
