Serial #8859, .45 2 1/10 (.45-70), 30 inch heavy octagonal barrel with a bright, excellent bore. This is the Shiloh Sharps Model 1874 Sporter rifle manufactured by the Shiloh Rifle MFG. Co. in Big Timber, Montana. The extremely well built rifle features a Malcolm 6x Long rifle scope with the adjustable sliding mount and brass caps, double set triggers, and beautifully done color case-hardening. In excellent plus condition the barrel retains virtually all, 97-98% of the original matte finish with some light scratches on a barrel side near the muzzle. The frame, hammer and lever show vibrant case-colors. The walnut stock and forearm rate excellent with very mild handling marks as does the plastic shotgun butt plate.
