Another Custom Winchester High-Wall 1885 Rifle: this one in .219 Zipper Caliber with a Round, 24-Inch, Heavy Target/Varmint Barrel and Very Attractive Checkered Pistol-Grip Buttstock with Prominent Rollover Cheekpiece & Flat-Bottom Target-Varmint Forend with a Gloss Finish and Vintage Mershon Butt Pad. Finger Lever is Customized as shown. No visible serial number. No sights. Two Weaver Bases; and two additional (filled) holes, presumably for a dovetail base are present just behind the wide barrel band. Top of barrel is marked: ADOLPH ZORNER ahead of the front Weaver Base; and 219 WIN ahead of the rear base. We have fired this rifle and are certain it is .219 Zipper caliber. Other markings are X’d out (see photos). Firing pin appears modern, with a bushing. The entire rifle is polished, reblued, and in very good to excellent refinished condition. Condition is best judged from the photos. All mechanical functions are tight and functional – making this a good, collectible shooter.
