The left side of the frame is marked with Kanji characters denoting "Army Type", with the encircled "TGE" logo marked over the top of the chamber. Right side of the frame is marked with Kanji characters denoting "Nambu Type" above the S# and a first variation Imperial Japanese naval anchor. Frame and bbl./bbl. extension exhibit a blue finish, with the bolt and firing pin being polished in-the-white. Trigger, sear bar retainer, and striker spring guide exhibit a reheated straw finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Dovetailed blade front sight with V-notch tangent rear sight, graduated 1-5. Frame features a hinged lanyard ring and rear grip strap's stock slot is appropriately filled in accordance with naval directive. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, trigger guard, mag. latch button body, recoil spring guide rod, rear sight assembly, bbl./bbl. extension, ejector, locking block, bolt, firing pin, cocking knob, striker spring guide, as well as the grips. MAGS: 1 matching 8-rd. with aluminum plug. Rear plug pin appears to be a replacement. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts of their blue finish, showing some areas of mild wear, with varying degrees of pitting present overall. Right side of frame at chamber exhibits heavy pitting, with areas of moderate pitting present beneath the grips. Strawed parts are very good, as reheated. Rear sight's slide has been cleaned and polished at one time. Bore exhibits consistent mild pitting and scattered small spots of moderate pitting, while retaining fair to good rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics, although the mag. doesn't not always seat properly and hold-open is not always engaged.
