Description:
For sale is an exceptional Heym 88B double rifle with two barrel sets, one in 470NE and the other in 375H&H.
The rifle has numerous factory upgrades including: Deluxe engraving pattern, Extended bottom tang, hinged pistol grip cap for a spare front sight, 1 standing and 3 folding leaf iron sights on both barrel sets, german claw mounts and rings for the 375H&H barrels, 24ct gold barrel rings, an articulated front trigger, and it has an exhibition grade walnut stock.
The rifle has a generous 15" Length of Pull. With the 470NE barrel set it weights approximately 10lbs11ounces. Both barrel sets are approximately 25" in length.
The 375HH includes one of the world's finest optics, an illuminated 1-4x Schmidt & Bender Dangerous game scope with custom quick detach rings and a German claw mount.
The rifle's triggers were tuned by an expert gunsmith, improving the accuracy to about 5.5lbs and 6.5lbs respectively, the British standard. A mercury recoil reducer was installed in the stock as well.
The rifle, per the original owner's heirs, was used on one safari before his sudden passing. The overall condition of the rifle is 98%+ with minor dings to the stock as expected over the course of a single hunt.
The rifle was regulated by world renowned expert, Mr. Ken Owen. The 375HH was regulated using the formidable Barnes 300gr TSX and also for the Hornady Softpoint Boat Tail. In an abundance of caution for future supply chain shortages, the 375HH was regulated with four powders: H4350, VV133, VV135and VV150. The 470NE barrels were regulated for Woodleigh 500gr Softs and Traditional solids with two powders, both IMR3031 and VV133.
The test targets indicate phenomenal regulation and that data was used for the custom loads included, 25 Woodleigh Softs and 25 Woodleigh Solids for the 470NE and roughly the same amount of 375HH loaded rounds for the Barnes TSX and Hornady Softpoint.
In addition, a large supply of components is included as photographed, including softs and solids from Woodleigh for the 470NE and Barnes TSX's for the 375HH. Several bags and boxes of Norma and Winchester Brass is also included as shown.
Present lead times for a new Heym are running 2-3 years, whereas this is a ready-to-hunt highly embellished Heym that has everything you need including iron clad documentation of its accuracy and overall regulation that will cost you less than a new Heym. The 375HH barrels have very little recoil allowing not just practical hunting, but affordability and mild-recoil for practice rather than resorting to the 470NE for practice.

The rifle is available for inspection in Western Wisconsin, approximately 45 mins from the Twin Cities. Out of State purchasers will need to provide an FFL recipient per Federal law. The rifle will be shipped via FedEx ground tracked and insured.
