H&R U.S. M12 .22 LR Military Trainer Bolt Rifle Markings: The top of the barrel is marked "HARRINGTON & RICHARDSON INC. / GARDNER, MASS. MADE IN U.S.A." and "MODEL — M12 / .22 LONG RIFLE". The left side of the receiver is marked "U.S. / AX703298". Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is one-piece wood featuring an inlet accessory rail with a forward sling mount installed, semi-pistol grip, straight comb and red hard rubber buttplate. There is no notable damage or wear, just light handling marks. The stock is in Excellent overall condition. The H&R M12 was made as a marksmanship training rifle to fulfill military requirements for training rifles as stocks of Remington 40X and Winchester Model 52 rifles diminished. With many of the same features, many of these M12s were made available to the Director of Civilian Marksmanship (DCM) clubs which later became the CMP. .22 Long Rifle
