Description:
Excellent Arrieta 28 gauge model 578 shotgun. Superbly engraved field shotgun specified by Michael McIntosh for a close friend. Perfect condition, with only field usage wear signs. Very limited usage, with lever right of center. Ends of barrels show wear from scabbard usage during Dakota horseback prairie bird hunts (see pictures 9, 10). Beautifully engraved action, enhanced by selected Turkish Walnut straight English stock, complete with drop points and an oil finish.
Perfectly balanced gun equipped with 29 inch barrels, double triggers, and field rib ending in single bead. Stock measurements are 1 7/16 in DAC, 2 1/4 in DAH, and 14 3/4 in LOP from front trigger to center of checkered butt. Slight Cast Off for right handed shooter. Barrels proved at 1200 bar with 70mm (2 3/4 in) chambers. Barrels choked at Imp Cyl (Right) and Modified (Left). Right barrel engraved with Foa de Escopolas Arrieta , Elguibar Espana Made in Spain, and Left barrel engraved with importer's name, Wingshooters LTD, Grand Rapids, Michigan USA.
