These exceptional guns although when made were the hardware store models when compared to some of the lovely higher grade Fox guns are truely exceptional guns.To us independent of price these are among the nicest bird guns we know of. This one like every other Sterlingworth we've handled locks up and closes with the authoritiy of a bank vault door...this is not an exaggeration. As a later Utica NY vs Philly gun it has 2 3/4" chambers and choked nicely at IC/Mod with 28" barrels would make a handy dove/quali partridge gun as well as roosters over pointers. Weighs 6lb 5 oz. Retains just a little case color but full blue. The stock finish is peeling some but a little light steel woool and true oil should bring this right back and not require refinishing.
In 20 ga, with 28" barrels, 14 1/4 LOP and weight a little over 6lbs and 2 3/4 " chambers this gun would be hard to beat.
