Description:
I am selling a pre 64 Winchester model 70 rifle that is outfitted with a Leupold VX5-HD scope that has the CDS system. This "Alaskan" is chambered in .338 Winchester Magnum. A friend of mine purchased this gun about 5 years ago to go on a Moose hunt in Canada. At the time of purchasing the rifle he also purchased the Leupold scope and had it installed on the gun. The scope was new at that time. He took the gun on the hunt and did in fact shoot a bull moose with it. Unfortunately my friend unexpectedly passed away about 2 years after that. I bought the gun from his estate. For a 70 year old firearm I would say that the gun is in very good condition. A serial number search tells me that the gun was built in 1958. If you are looking at this ad you are probably well aware of the legendary quality of this era of model 70 rifles. Though there are a few light scratches and dings on the gun I would say that there are no major blemishes. The bore is bright and shiny. The action is very smooth. In my non expert opinion the finish on the metal and wood appear to be original. As far as I can tell the butt pad is original. The scope is like new and very clear. I purchased this gun in memory of my friend, but at this point realize I will likely never shoot it and I would like to put the money to fund another gun purchase that I have in mind.

I will have it professionally packaged by the mail dock business center in Lebanon, Pa. I will ship to you for $75 including insurance. This is about half of what the shipping and packing will actually cost (so I'm basically splitting the cost of shipping with you). The price of the gun and scope together is $2750.
