About Us: I am a research scientist specializing in the design of advanced optical gun sights. I have 20+ years of hunting experience in Canada, USA, Spain and Sweden. As of 2025, I hold 12 United States patents on various riflescope and binocular inventions which I am trying to develop and commercialize through my company Lucida Research LLC. I am interested in fine hunting rifles made by companies such as Heym, Krieghoff, Mauser, Sauer as well as those made by master gunmakers such as Ralf Martini, Herbert Schiering, Anton Sodia, Johann Fanzoj and Reto Beuler.

Description:
This beautiful and functional combination gun (12 Ga Shotgun over 30-06 Rifle) was made as a Special Edition by Heym in 1997 to celebeate the lauch of their new "safty lock mechanism". It is light, compact and very versatile: you can hunt anything in North America with this weapon from ptarmigans to deer and moose!

This gun is in excellent (like new) condition. I have only test fired it a few time at the shooting range as you can see in pictures. It is part of my personal collection of fine Heym rifles. I think I have the original box for the Schmidt-Bender scope too,

Engravings: The light-metal reciver is extensively engraved by world-renowned master engraver Gerd Rausch. His signature is visible on the right-hand panel under one of the phesant's feet. The quality and caliber of Rausch's art is beoynd description. The meticulous detail and flawless execution of the animal and floral figurs cannot be captured in any photo.

Mechanism: The locking system is operated by a tang "safty" which is actually a cocking device. The front trigger fires the rifle barrel and the rear trigger is used for the shotgun. For safty reasons, only one barrel can be fired at a time.

Optics: Factory installed Schmidt and Bender 3-12X50 riflescope on custom (Recknagel?) quick-realse mounts. The reticle is first focal plane with an illuminated centeral dot.

Accuracy: The 30-06 rifle barrel shoots sub-MOA with several bullet weights including a flat-shooting 3200 f/s load using Barnes 130 Gr TTSX with Vithavoury N540 powder.  I will be happy to share my loading and test shooting notes with the buyer. As with any combination gun, you have to avoid succesive and rapid shooting of the rifle barrel. Rapid firing can cause the point of impact to shift upwards by about 2 inches. This is natural since the shotgun barrel acts as a heatsinc and keeps the top side of the barrel cooer than the bottom side which, in turn, creates a slight upward flex in the barrel assembly. For hunting purposes, it is perfectly reliable and you can expect cold-barrel no-hold-over first shot hits at games out to 300 yards using the 130 gr TTSX load I mentioned :)
