Vintage Firearms is pleased to offer this 1901 Krag carbine. This example has an excellent shiny 8/10 bore strong rifling. Has evidence of military use and thus the 22” barrel, receiver, and trigger guard all show fading to a pleasant patina, 10%, 20%, and 5% respectively. No splits or cracks are present on the stock and the action functions smoothly with a 7lb trigger break and overall, the rifle is in great mechanical condition. Still evident are its proof marks and just above the trigger guard sit the letters LPA, meaning the rifle was Inspected by Louis P. Ambler. The metal fit is excellent. What makes the Krag a unique rifle is being able to top up the 5-round magazine without needing to take the rifle out of battery, certainly advantageous in many circumstances!
