Description: Browning Superposed Grade IV 12 gauge shotgun that was manufactured in 1955. This gun remains in good overall shape with some minor wear from use over the years. The action type is an O / U, top break with ejectors and a manual safety / barrel selector. The left of the top barrel is marked "BROWNING ARMS COMPANY - ST LOUIS, MISSOURI / SPECIAL STEEL – 12 GA. – SHELLS 2 3/4"", the right is marked "PATENTS No 2.203.378 – 2.233861 / MADE IN BELGIUM". The left of each barrel is marked with Belgian proofs. At the breech on the left, the top barrel is marked "*", the bottom "**", the bottom-left of the monoblock is marked "46352" and there are inspector marks on the bottom of the monoblock between the lugs. The left of the forend latch is marked "46352". The top tang is marked "46352", and the water table is marked with Belgian proofs. The coin finished Grade IV receiver is hand engraved with detailed scenes of pheasants and dogs in nature, surrounded by scroll on the right panel and pheasants and foxes in nature, surrounded by scroll with the engraver's signature F Funken on the left and right panel. The barrels are a 30" vent rib with ejectors with a front white and mid-bead sight. The top of the rib is checkered. The stocks are two-piece checkered walnut with a semi pistol grip, fluted straight comb, Schnable forend, and a Browning hard rubber butt plate. The stock appears to be a higher grade walnut than the forend. Stock measurements (DC - 1 5/8", DH - 2 1/2") with a neutral cast. This Browning remains in overall very good condition with some minor wear mostly on the barrels. Price: $8,999.99 Curio/Relic: Yes Chambers: 2 3/4" chambers. Metal Condition: The barrels show light wear at the muzzle with light scattered scratches and wear on the bottom barrel from the handguard. Rates about 90% overall.
