Made the year Charles Lindbergh made the first solo flight across the Atlantic, this one shows fine deep blue on the receiver sides and top/bolt. There is some edge wear, bottom and upper tang wear from light handling. Fine blue on the loading gate. Correct 24” barrel and short magazine tube show fine, deep and only very lightly aged blue. Exc. Markings. Receiver is correctly fitted for a Providence Tool Co. “Lyman 21 style” receiver sight. Nice rounded filler in the rear sight dovetail. Correct short ramp front sight. Exc. stock and forend show lightest handling only with tight wood to metal fit and slightly better grain (fiddleback) in the butt stock. Correct steel butt plate. Tight takedown, tight action, strong safety half-cock and bright, sharp exc. bore! Only about 20,500 of these were made from 1924-1935 with .30WCF (.30-30) the standard caliber. A particularly fine almost 99 year old example.
