From EstateSale-No Longer Mfg'd.1980's-i am the 2nd owner of this absolutely GORGEOUS Winchester 44 cal.--This item was an offering thru the Cody,Wyoming-BuffaloBillCody Historical Museum.//This was mfg'd. by Uberti via The FranklinMint & ALL Ser.#'s the same number Gun is (No longer in produced in THIS Format !!...1990's(?)//This is just as you see it SANS the display board//. Obviously, THIS can be 'purchased" Legally.. because it is NOT a FIREARM-yet is made of the SAME quality 'milspec steel of Modern day gunmaking.// it is factory engraved & 24K Gold Plating. This completly functions as 'the Original made 1873 Winchester & same Winchester address & Kings Improvement of 1860' as denoted on the top flat of the octagon 24in. barrel..!//The nicely Figured Walnut is the same type used in genuine Rifle mfg.//The barrel is the identical to current Barrel manufacturing standards..but has NOT been 'bored out completely, from Muzzle to Breach- rendering this as a non-firing "DISPLAY Gun"..and the orig. type f'pin etc. is absent along with the magazine tube 'spring below the Bb'l.//the original 'trapdoor functions as does the original for holding cleaning items.// I also, have owned mine when these 1st became available from FranklinMint...and for years, I have attempted to locate another one to NO avail UNTIL l I found this specific one at an Estate closing sale...mine has a Uberti factory replacement BB'l and f'pin etc. to make mine function as a genuine firearm (at will) & simply return it to Non firing function by R&R-ing the Barrel etc. when I wish to 'enjoy it..EITHER way..!..I doubt you'll find another due to the LOW numbers FranklinMint ordered..!NOTE:..when 1st offered, these were 'pricey to purchase & hence, the FEW produced...
