Description:
On consignment we have a Smith & Wesson U.S. Army Model 1917 double action revolver in .45 ACP of the type manufactured from 1917 to 1946. This revolver features a square-butt N-frame with blued finish, walnut grips, lanyard loop, a 6-shot fluted cylinder, and 5-1/2" barrel with fixed sights. Gun is five-screw frame with pinned barrel in very good original condition.
Action and lockup are tight, timing and bore are good. Underside barrel flat is marked ‘United States Property’, bottom of gripframe is marked ‘US Army Model 1917’, and there is both the flaming bomb ordnance proof and an Eagle/S6 inspectors mark on left side of frame.
