Offered for sale is a 1942 Mauser P.08 Luger marked with the “BYF" code, representing WWII German military production. The chamber is dated 42, and the toggle is stamped with the “BYF" manufacturer code used by Mauser to obscure factory identification during this period.
This pistol features matching serial numbers on the major components except the side plate, including the frame, receiver, barrel, and toggle assembly. Small parts appear properly numbered and Waffenamt-stamped, consistent with 1942 Mauser inspection practices. Bluing appears refinished, with minimal wear. The metal of the firearm will have dings consistent with a firearm that saw major combat
The bore is dark with strong rifling but will show major pitting, and all mechanical functions operate properly. Includes one magazine that isn‚t original to the gun but is period correct.
This is a very solid example of an mid-war Mauser Luger and an excellent piece for any German military or WWII collection.
