"Serial No. 9687, manufactured circa 1942, 8mm Mauser, 24"" round barrel. Serial numbers are matching throughout with the exception of the stock. Factory markings and sharp waffenamts remain clearly defined. Barrel finish is beginning to thin to a light grey patina, and the bore shows frosting and light oxidation in the grooves, though rifling remains serviceable. Stock has been lightly refurbished, presenting clean surfaces with expected service wear. Action is smooth and functions correctly. Rifle is accompanied by a bayonet and scabbard, completing the set. A solid example of a mid-war BYF 42 Mauser K98k, retaining strong markings and desirable matching components.
