Absolutely exquisite & pristine example of the very rare and highly desirable Model of 1911 U.S.Navy, serial #8988. This perfect and complete pistol exhibits every feature as described in Clawsons comprehensive book on the Colt 1911. This pistol will include the very rare two-tone KEYHOLE lanyard loop magazine with correct nitre blue follower,as well as 7 rounds of correct era ammo. This pistol was shipped to the Brooklyn Naval Shipyard in March of 1912...as documented in Clawsons book.
This historical piece was completely restored by Doug Turnbull at Turnbull Restorations many years ago and since has never been fired or even had the slide opened or trigger pulled. It has been stored in a climate controlled, hermetically sealed vault...absolutely zero blemishes.
