From the AyA : “The N° 3 has been AYA’s standard boxlock design since 1960.” Modelled from a Westley Richards boxlock action, brought to Spain by the King brothers. The Anson & Deeley action, the most famous of all boxlock designs, was created by two employees of Westley Richards in 1875, and ever since, Westley Richards guns have defined boxlock elegance. This AyA, sn412636 built in 1974, is a fine upland gun indeed! Weighing just 5lbs. 9oz. you can carry this gun all day with little fatigue. This Aya has nice straight grain wood, there is an old field use mark on the right comb, from a hunt long forgotten- it adds a little character. The 20ga. chambering is known to be deadly on pheasants, grouse, quail, dove, woodcock and all upland game. The barrels show 98% factory bluing with mirror bores, tight ribs, and are choked M/F. These side-by-sides are known to be highly reliable guns with a strong following from those ‘who know’, and priced affordably for a hand-engraved, hand-checkered gun with perfect screws.
