Description:
This is a really nice and very solid/shootable British 10 gauge SxS hammergun. Top rib marked G. HEMINWAY LONDON LAMINATED STEEL. Side plates marked G. HEMINWAY. These were manufactured in England by J P Clabrough & Bro., likely no later than the 1880s. The gun is nicely engraved on locks, receiver, tang, and triggerguard. The bores in the 29.75" barrels are surprisingly good, with only minor pitting, mostly near muzzle. The number 11 proof on underside of breeches means it is choked to 11 gauge. Chambers are bright and clean. The finish is a faded light brown. The gun locks up tight and locks function as they should. The stocks are in very good antique condition with minimal wear to checkering. No cracks. Horn buttplate. LOP is 14.5/13.75". Gun weighs almost 9.5 lbs. An excellent, high quality antique shooter using black powder loads. Be a great vintage trap or bird gun. $900 + Shipping.
