.45 Colt caliber, 5.5" barrel length, S/N 10801 (ca. 1890). Top of the barrel with single line Colt Hartford address. Left side of the barrel marked ".45 Colt". Left side of the frame marked with 2 line patent dates next to "U.S.". Blue finish on the barrel with case colored frame, hammer and lever. 6 shot fluted cylinder with front blade sight. Varnished walnut grips. An overall pleasant U.S. Marked Colt Single Action Army Artillery revolver. As expected with these artillery revolvers the numbers are not matching. The condition overall is very good retaining some of the finish. Mostly a modeled gray to plum patina on the metal surfaces. The markings are sharp and crisp. Grips are good retaining most of the varnish with some nicks and dings. Bore is bright and shiny with very strong rifling. Mechanically STRONG 4 CLICK ACTION. Tool marks on barrel below MFG markings.
